In November of 2023, I was featured in an article about women who left their job in the tech sector to pursue sex work. I left my tech job in October of 2021 to become a Dominatrix, as part of “the great resignation.”
In my 15+-year tech career, I worked in all different environments: from startups to the Big Four, from small groups to large corporations, to woman-led, and heavily diverse companies (which were hard to find). I climbed the corporate ladder. And I had many soft and hard skills. But I was regularly overlooked, undervalued, and I grew tired of being negatively perceived for being a strong, passionate, and straightfoward woman. I reached a glass ceiling. I needed a change. I wanted to do something fulfilling, where my skills and natural temperament would be applauded.
I’ve been passionate about BDSM and power exchange my whole adult life. I’ve been a lifestyle femdom for many years. I was well-versed in many aspects of power exchange, sex, kink, fetishes, and BDSM. I’ve been manipulating people for my own enjoyment for as long as I can remember. And I wanted to express my ideas around the divine feminine interwoven with power exchange. So, it was a natural pivot for me to begin working as a Dominatrix.
It’s been empowering to leave the corporate world behind, to profit off of my talents and skills directly, and, as Mistress Fae says so simply in the article, “I get more genuine respect from men as a sex worker than I ever did in the tech industry.”
